Museum Workshops

We offer a range of workshops for delivery in museums and other visitor attractions.  These can be run as formal set-duration sessions for school groups or they can be offered as drop in activities for family groups at weekends and during school holidays.
Workshops designed for school groups will come with teacher notes including curriculum links for distribution to schools prior to attending a session.

We aim to bring along everything we need for the workshop, so all you have to do is supply the room and maybe a few extra pairs of hands to keep things running smoothly.

Castles (KS1/2)

Children learn about forces and structures by building their very own castles from small stone blocks and oak beams.  The comes the fun bit – knocking them down with a selection of siege weaponry.  We come fully equipped with sets of model onagers and trebuchets and we’re also working on a class set of small ballistas.

Rocket Science (KS1/2)

You need a fair bit of outside space for this one.  We explore the fundamentals of rocket science with the Wonderstruck Hoverchair and then they build and launch their own water rockets.  Definitely a perennial favourite!

Time Flies (KS2/3)

Great if you have some old timepieces in your collections!  We look at how we experience time and then make some simple contraptions for measuring its flow.

If they sound interesting give us a call or drop us a line to request an information sheet about whichever one takes your fancy.  You might also want to check out our schools workshops because we’re happy to do some of those in museums as well – although some do require a science lab)
