Hovercraft

Teams build a fully functional hovercraft in this fast-paced workshop. They investigate the workings of a hovercraft by building a set prototype then, using their new-found expertise, they design and build their own version. The workshop introduction covers the concept of friction and Newton's Laws of Motion and it all finishes with time trials and a Grand Prix race-off.

Group sizes: 20 to 60

Recommended age: Year 6 to adult
